In the hectic, never slow down pace of life today, it’s hard to find time to build quality relationships and devote real time to developing our spiritual life. We strive to help you “Get Connected” making real connections between our members, families, friends, to those who can help you and those who need your help, and to God. We seek to provide opportunities to connect with one another and with God, whether it’s with our Bible Study, Men’s Ministry, Senior Ministry or Women’s Ministry. No matter your age, or station in life, we have a place for you.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting, … but let us encourage one another … (Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV)
Huntington Woods features a variety of Bible study opportunities. Many take advantage of the Sunday morning study which is held at 9:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. These classes are generally led by Pastor Nickel. Pastor Nickel also leads a Bible study throughout the year on Wednesday mornings. In addition, periodically studies especially designed specifically for men or women or small group studies in homes are held. Contact the church office or consult the church calendar on this site to see the Bible studies currently being offered.
Huntington Woods Lutheran Men’s Ministry is for all men who would like to:
• Connect with other men,
• Encourage each other and grow spiritually,
• Serve our church and community.
The men’s ministry has several opportunities for men to participate and connect with other men at HWLC. Whether it’s a mens retreat, golf outing, baseball game, hiking trip, or our monthly breakfast gathering, there is a benefit in getting with other men to share a slice of life. Contact the Church Office for additional information.
Laughing, learning, & loving… When women get together, you never know what will happen!
Connect to the beautiful, valuable & exquisite creation that God made you to be.
You were meant to know your value and to live it out loud! Girls, your life is now… don’t wait another day to start growing!
The women’s ministry is about connecting, encouraging, and uplifting women in all stages of life. Each woman will understand God’s love for her, grow, and then BLOOM, into a thriving and flourishing woman of faith. Through programs that meet you where you are, we desire that you will find:
• A place to connect and belong
• Encouragement to keep you growing
• A lift when you need it
• Opportunities to give others a lift when they need it
Our goal is that as you become involved, build friendships, and apply Gods Word to your life. You will experience the love God has for you, your heart will be strengthened, and your true beauty will be revealed… in full BLOOM!
We are also involved in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) and Lutheran Child and Family Service (LCFS).

We thank God for walking with us through life and we believe… “We have lived longer, to help you live better!”
Our belief in the wonderful faithfulness of God is so real and alive to us because:
We have a heart for serving and mentoring others.
We still hunger for His Word.
We know God loved us so that we might love others.
We know He has blessed us so that we might bless others—families, singles, adults, students. Being a Senior is a special blessing indeed (Ephesians 4:28)!
We are still goin’ and growin’ both “in” and “because of” His grace!
We have learned it is awareness of God’s presence in the past and the joy it brings us today, that energizes us for the best days of our lives (Colossians 3:24)!
We have a very active Senior Adult group, ages 55 and up. Our seniors meet every month to participate in a variety of activities. They enjoy having lunch together at church or going out for lunch. They have also visited many attractions in our area such as the Detroit Institute of Art, the Holocaust Museum, and Greenfield Village.
Many of our Senior Adult women are involved in a quilt tying group that meets at church. Our group makes quilts for Lutheran World Relief and others in need.
Our Senior Adult men meet every Monday morning at church to help with things that may be in need of repair around the church.
The Senior Adult activities offer a wonderful time for our seniors to come together in good Christian fellowship.
